An Interview With Brainheart

Q: Hey, for those who aren’t familiar with your music, could you tell us a little about yourself?

So my name is Roi Zohar and I am an independent music producer, songwriter, and DJ. Exposed to classical music at the age of four, I was inspired to play piano at fifteen without knowing DJing and music production would influence my life ever since. Having struggled in the school system, music started as a way to distract myself from school struggles but quickly became much more than that. Music impacts my brain and my heart every single day and brings me peace of mind.
Music gives me purpose; I have a reason to get up every day. Producing music is the only way I can fully express my feelings and emotions. I learn a lot about myself and my growth while making songs. My main goal is to make people happy and emotional. I want to make a lasting impact and be an inspiration for many generations to come. I want to create music that will last forever in people’s hearts and affect the way they see life.

Q: You recently released your new single  ” Keep Me From Falling Apart ”  can you tell us what the song is about?

This song is really important to me. I made it with one of my best friends Dorel. Such an amazing singer that will go places. This is the first time that I’ve combined pop, pop-punk, and EDM together—genres that I love extremely. It was so fun creating it. I will definitely create another pop punk/EDM song in the future. Even though I’m not a great guitarist, I forced myself to play as much as I can. That’s why this song contains a lot of guitar layers, something that I will do more in my future productions for sure! I want this song to teach people that healthy relationships aren’t perfect. As human beings, we are all flawed and that’s ok. There are so many people out there who believe in finding “the perfect partner”.
Sometimes the greatest relationships are the ones you never expected to be in. The ones that sweep you off your feet and challenge every view you’ve ever had.

Q: What inspirations do you take when writing your music?

I get inspiration from so many things, but I think the most powerful sources of inspiration are: listening to new music, traveling, movies, and music festivals/concerts.

Q: Who are your current favorite artists?

ILLENIUM, Avicii, Martin Garrix, Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, Bring Me The Horizon, Bad Omens, Hans Zimmer, Demi Lovato, OneRepublic, and Adele. I listen to so many genres and get inspiration literally from everything. Versatility is so important.

Q: Who would your dream collaboration be with, and why?

Honestly, my wishlist is huge so I’ll give you just 7 artists… I wish I could work with Coldplay, OneRepublic, Ed Sheeran, Adelle, The Script, Tori Kelly, or Dermot Kennedy. I love them so much, each artist has a piece in my heart. Each artist is so unique and made an impact on the world and on my soul.

Q: What does the rest of the year have in store for you?

The main goal for 2023 is to get an artist visa; I really want to move to the US. I believe that I will have many more opportunities there to develop my music career. Unfortunately, it’s very complicated, but I believe that one day I’ll get it.
I will keep making music and touching people’s hearts and souls. I want to keep growing my socials and fanbase. I want to evolve and become a better version of myself – as a musician and as a person.
