Q: Hey, for those who aren’t familiar with your music, could you tell us a little about yourself?
In a 20 year old Tamil Canadian artist from Toronto. I sing mainly pop & r&b music and just released my second project titled “NONE OF THIS WAS EASY”.
Q: You recently released your new project – can you tell us what the EP is about?
The project is about mental health & the journey I took in trying to decipher and understand that while in the midst of a scary pandemic. There was no book or body of worm we could reference to feeling this way during such a time, so I wanted to be the person who tried to do that myself. There’s also a light that shines brighter through each song as you go down the album, which is representative of the good shining through even when dark times seem to cloud our minds.
Q: What inspirations do you take when writing your music?
My inspirations are definitely driven from my life, but also sometimes the lives around me. My friends, family & even strangers on the news can inspire a new song.
Q: Who are your current favorite new artists?
I’m going to say my favourite new artists definitely have to be the people that worked on this project with me of course (Shae, Mrii, OAJEEH, Kyn Rose & LAYOR), but also want to give a huge shoutout to artists like Spitty, Talitha, Anushka Bibi & Aqyila. These are artists I have saved on my playlist & are definitely going to go VERY far (if not already close to that already).
Q: Who would your dream collaboration be with, and why?
I’ll reach far and say that in the future I’d love to collaborate with huge artists like The Weeknd, Drake, Demi & way more. I think that list a little too long for me to put on here honestly.
Q: What does the rest of the year have in store for you?
I’m craving to do my own set of songs, because I know I have the discography to fill it. So hopefully I do a few by the end of the year. I wrote a lot of songs over the 2.5 years, so maybe possibly expect a deluxe of this project? I’m really trying to let “NOTWE” live because the message is so important and the stories are very therapeutic and/or fun.
